Is sustainability far-fetched in a world where unsustainability society reigns?
The sustainable development goals (SDGs) are left with only a few years for the world to achieve them all, as 2030 is already nearing. Having the global initiative to go sustainable is indeed revolutionary, however, making them materialize into the reality is a challenge for all countries who took part in this movement.
Aside from the entrance of the pandemic, another factor that hinders its full completion is the nature of exploitation in our unsustainable society. Fast fashion, and retailing are some of the factors at the forefront of this hindrance. Thus, people should be mindful of brands who resort to greenwashing. Instead, focus on patronizing genuine eco-friendly brands to kick-start your journey towards a sustainable lifestyle.
Fortunately, Ecollective is to the rescue to promote sustainability as a second nature for all of us through the brands they feature and the content that they publish. It is a public relations agency created by six students of the same university that aims to educate, encourage, and empower Filipinos to shop sustainably–which includes a wide range of possible ways that can span from using metal straws and reusable cups to being fashionable by thrifting. Pioneers of this store advocate for sustainable fashion by thrifting for new clothes or upcycling old clothes.
Looking at their social media page (@Ecollective.PR), they are very consistent with their advocacy and encouragement to join the sustainability movement. From featuring eco-friendly brands to triggering discussion online with regard to sustainability, Ecollective’s efforts to gain a wider reach of possible ecobestie is truly evident.
Feeling hopeless that your individual efforts to adapt a sustainable lifestyle will go to waste as corporations deviate from this advocacy? It is a real concern. However, with Ecollective’s increasing ecobestie who immediately responded to the call for volunteerism, individual efforts once combined could make a difference.
Want to be the next Ecollective’s ecobestie or sustainabhielity? Head on to their social media page by looking for their logo in the STORES tab of our wixsite. As easy as that, you’ll be directed to the world where sustainability matters.
